Assistant chair and Independent Representative

Jennie is an experienced board member and senior leader within the training and education sector. With particular specialisms in the sports, leisure and community education sectors, Jennie has a reputation for developing trusted partnerships and identifying innovative training and development solutions in both the public and private sectors. Possessing experience in the commissioning, design and delivery of learning and development programmes delivered both nationally and internationally, clients and partners have included some of the world’s largest sports clubs; renowned charities, trusts and foundations; government departments including the ESFA; and associated expert bodies.

Skilled in business planning, strategic development and partnership management to support business growth, Jennie brings an entrepreneurial spirit to the businesses she supports.

Jennie currently works  as a consultant, supporting strategic learning and development initiatives across the sports sector.

As an advocate of learning and with a passion for education, management and sports, Jennie has an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Bath and MSc in Sports Science from Loughborough University.

Ben Gittus - Independent Representative

brings to the ASQ board 25 years of experience in sport and education and is well-placed to make a positive contribution to the governance and activities of ASQ.

 

Based in the south of Scotland, Ben will contribute to our England, Wales and Scottish self-assessments to ensure we are making progress with our own strategy, whilst supporting the needs of our Scottish, and rest of the UK/ international candidates alike.

 

Ben obtained a BSc Honours Degree (2:1) in Sport and Exercise Science and a MA in Sports Development from the University of Gloucestershire.

Since 2013 Ben has held the position of Director of Standards for the European Observatoire of Sport and Employment (EOSE). EOSE is a not-for-profit association registered in France with member organisations in 30 countries and a focus on education, skills and workforce development in sport across Europe. Ben’s role with EOSE involves managing EU funded projects or working directly with sport organisations on a range of sport and education initiatives. 

Before working at EOSE, Ben spent the previous 12 years working in the UK managing the development of occupational standards, apprenticeship frameworks, NVQs and other qualifications for a variety of roles in the sport sector. Ben has worked closely with awarding organisations and accreditation bodies across the UK, as well as universities, training providers and employers. Ben also helped to manage the EU-funded EDUGOLF project to create golf standards at the European level for the first time, working closely with golf experts from across Europe

Ben is a Chartered Fellow of CIMSPA. 

With his extensive experience in the sector, Ben will support the rest of ASQ board with the required governance, self-assessment and regulatory activities along with shaping the future direction and potential growth of ASQ.
